50 Things about Me

I have a day off, so I thought I would blog again – twice in 1 week, so unlike me! This tag was floating around a few months back but I have read some recently too, so I thought I would join in. :)

1. My full name is Wendy Catherine Carr.
2. My birthday is on the 3^rd of April. I really like this date. It sounds nice.
3. I don’t really have a favourite colour, but I've been liking orange a lot over the past few years.
4. If I were a boy, I would have been named Andrew. (Andy…Wendy… Pretty similar!)
5. I am currently working my 6^th season at Glenfiddich Distillery as a tour guide, giving tours in English, German and French. I love this job, but this will probably be my last season there. :(
6. I sing aaall the tiiime. It must be so annoying.
7. Even though I grew up in a small town in the NE of Scotland and the locals have really broad Scottish accents and often speak 'Doric' dialect, I don’t sound local at all.
8. My favourite part of my body is my eyes.
9. I had braces for over 3 years.
10. I love Disney.
11. My ears are each pierced twice.
12. I play the violin, piano and orchestral percussion.
13. I would love to be a mother one day.
14. I’ve never had my hair cut really short.
15. My best friends are dotted about all over. Mainly in the UK, but one lives abroad (always changing).
16. I don't have a certain style; I wear what I like, and this varies day-to-day. Some days I'll be all rocker-chick; other days I’ll wear pearls and pastel colours.
17. I dyed my hair blonde over the summer of 2009. I didn't really suit it.
18. I then dyed my hair bright red for a few months. I suited this more, and I really liked it, but it was too much work to maintain!
19. I don't have a favourite genre of music: there are too many to choose from!
20. I love shoes.
21. I have the awful habit of 'plooking' myself and others! (i.e. squeezing blackheads and spots. Gross, I know.)
22. When I was younger, I was obsessed with Britney Spears.
23. I had a twin before I was born. (He/she was miscarried, but I clung on!)
24. I try to have a positive outlook on life as much as I can.
25. Even though I have a big personality, can be quite loud and of course have no problem getting up on stage to perform in front of hundreds of people, I can actually be quite shy. Especially in some social situations, like meeting new people: I just don't know what to say and it gets very awkward, making me even more nervous.
26. I have the best family ever.
27. I'm moving to London after the summer and I can't wait!
28. The move to London is because I start an intensive 1-year Acting Course, and I can't wait even more for this!!
29. My milk of choice is skimmed (red).
30. I love tea. (Specifically very milky Earl Grey.)
31. I would like to learn sign language.
32. My favourite ice cream is Haagen Dazs Pralines and Cream (but I'm also quite keen on Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie – Aria's influence!).
33. I have such a sweet tooth. It's crazy how much junk I can eat.
34. Even though I have a sweet tooth, I am actually really fussy when it comes to some chocolate and cake: if either is what I consider 'fake', then I probably won't like it.
35. My favourite actress is Jennifer Lawrence (if you haven't figured that out yet!).
36. I hope to take after my mum and look as good as she does at her age!
37. I was a fitness fanatic as a child. I won the cross country at school, got an exercise bike and gymnastics mat for Christmas, and I remember going to Argos to enquire about the minimum age for using dumbbells. It didn't last…
38. I am a trained Classical (opera) singer.
39. I would describe my belly button is half-outy, half-inny. It sounds gross, but it's not!
40. I love cuddles.
41. One of my best friends, Charlotte, and I went to get our belly buttons pierced at the same time (when it was all the rage), and we each paid for the other's. Friendship-piercings if you will.
42. My favourite perfume is Beyoncé Heat, or Armani Diamonds (but it's a coincidence that Beyoncé was in the adverts for it. Honestly!).
43. I have a fear of spiders, being in the sea and big things like massive cathedrals and the propellers on the Titanic. The idea of being near a blue whale freaks me out.
44. I like dancing, but have no idea if I’m any good at it!
45. I am short-sighted so need to wear contact lenses or glasses all the time.
46. My favourite meal is one of dad's home-made curries. Can't choose which though.
47. I like sparkly stuff. My dad still has a memory of getting a Christmas list from me asking for sparkly shoes when I was little! It's still on my list to this day. :(
48. Sometimes I just watch my niece sleeping and try to commit her image to memory.
49. I have a weakness for ridiculously expensive chocolate!
50. I love love.

So that’s 50 random things about me. I thought it would be difficult to come up with as many as 50, but it turns out it's really easy to talk about yourself! Haha. I tag you all to do the same, and let me know when you have! I like making new friends (<that's number 51!).
